Kyiv, Ukraine – The Ukrainian Air Force announced that its air defenses successfully shot down 97 Russian drones during a massive air attack launched by Russian forces on various parts of the country overnight. Ukrainian authorities stated that air defense systems, supported by electronic warfare units and mobile fire teams, engaged the attack. They also confirmed that they downed a significant number of drones before they reached their targets.
She added that the attack came within the framework of continuing mutual air operations between the two sides. Russia and Ukraine are increasingly relying on drones to carry out long-range attacks and target vital sites and installations. Moreover, the Russian-Ukrainian war is witnessing a continuous escalation in air attacks, amid warnings of the expansion of the scope of mutual strikes. At the same time, Ukrainian air defenses seek to confront repeated Russian attacks targeting a number of cities and regions inside the country.
