Los Angeles, USA – A formal ceremony was held in Los Angeles, USA, for the FBI to hand over 48 rare historical artifacts to the Arab Republic of Egypt. This comes as part of ongoing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in combating the illicit trafficking of antiquities and recovering smuggled cultural and civilizational heritage.
Dr. Hossam El-Din Ali, Egypt’s Consul General in Los Angeles, officially received the recovered artifacts. On this occasion, he delivered a speech expressing the Egyptian government’s deep appreciation for the efforts of the American authorities in returning these precious pieces to Cairo. He also commended the level of coordination and cooperation between Egypt and the United States in various fields, particularly regarding the protection of human cultural heritage and the recovery of stolen Egyptian antiquities.
