Aden, Yemen – In a new field escalation, the Houthi group renewed, on Sunday, its direct and violent bombardment, using ballistic missiles and drones, on the coastal city of Mokha, located in Taiz Governorate, western Yemen. Informed local sources reported that the Houthi group fired two ballistic missiles targeting the city of Mokha and the western coast areas of the governorate. These missiles were also launched specifically from concentration sites under the group’s control in the “Jabal Uman” area. These sites are located in the Al-Hawban area, east of the city of Taiz.
The same sources explained that ballistic missiles and other drones landed on Saudi Hospital Street in the city center. As of now, the extent of material damage and casualties from the powerful explosions is unknown. These explosions shook the area as a result of the bombardment.
Simultaneously with the missile attack, residents and locals observed intense and continuous drone activity by the Houthi group over the Mocha district. The group launched these drones in conjunction with the attack to escalate the atmosphere of terror. It is worth noting that the Houthi group continues to target liberated areas and coastal cities in Taiz Governorate with missiles and drones intermittently. This often results in civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure and property.
