Madrid, Spain – Spain condemned the escalating attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinian families in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus in the West Bank, expressing its rejection of the siege and intimidation tactics targeting the civilian population. Madrid stressed the need to halt the attacks against Palestinians and protect civilians from violence. It also emphasized the importance of respecting international law and ceasing practices that could further escalate tensions in the West Bank.

The Spanish position came after several Palestinian families in Qusra were subjected to harassment and attacks by settlers. Simultaneously, there are restrictions on the movement of residents and attempts to pressure them within their residential areas. The town of Qusra and other areas in the West Bank are witnessing an escalation in settler attacks. This raises growing concerns about the expansion of the cycle of violence and the deterioration of the security and humanitarian situation. Spain called for a firm response to the acts of violence and for those responsible to be held accountable. It also considered the protection of the Palestinian population and the cessation of attacks to be essential steps to prevent further escalation and preserve the prospects for stability and peace in the region.
