Amman, Jordan – Military officials from Jordan, Syria, and Iraq met to discuss ways to enhance border security and joint coordination. This was part of efforts to address the security challenges facing the region.

The meeting addressed mechanisms for developing cooperation between border security forces and exchanging information and expertise. Moreover, coordination was also strengthened to combat smuggling and infiltration. The meeting focused on activities that threaten the security and stability of the three countries.

Cooperation between Jordan, Syria, and Iraq is of particular importance given the extensive geographical extent of their shared borders. There is a need for enhanced field coordination and continuous information sharing in light of the evolving security situation in the region.

The participants also discussed the importance of taking joint measures to maintain the security of border areas and enhance the capabilities of relevant agencies in dealing with security threats. In addition, curbing illicit cross-border activities was also discussed.

The meeting emphasized the importance of continued meetings and military and security coordination among the three countries. This contributes to protecting borders and strengthening regional stability, especially in light of the increasing challenges facing the region.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance security cooperation among neighboring countries. The meeting also aimed to develop joint mechanisms for addressing cross-border threats.
