Tokyo, Japan – A new earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, marking the second tremor to hit the region in a short period. Authorities are monitoring seismic activity. The epicenter was located at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers. So far, there have been no reports of casualties or damage.

Japanese authorities did not issue a tsunami warning following the earthquake. Meanwhile, relevant agencies continue to monitor developments in anticipation of aftershocks. Kumamoto had previously experienced a 4.9 magnitude earthquake, prompting heightened vigilance and preparedness for any further seismic activity in the region.

Japan is one of the world’s most earthquake-prone countries due to its location within the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region prone to frequent seismic and volcanic activity. Emergency teams and relevant authorities continue to monitor the situation. Residents are urged to follow safety instructions and remain vigilant for any further tremors.
