Washington, DC – The US Secretary of Energy confirmed that approximately 9 million barrels of oil are shipped daily through the Strait of Hormuz. This underscores the continued importance of this vital waterway for global energy supplies.

He explained that the movement of oil tankers through the strait remains a key element in securing the needs of international markets. This is due to the strait’s pivotal role in transporting crude oil from the Gulf states to global markets.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important maritime chokepoints for oil and energy trade. Large quantities of crude oil and petroleum product exports from the Gulf region pass through it.

Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is gaining increasing importance amid regional tensions. Any disruption to shipping or supplies could quickly impact oil prices and global markets.

The United States is closely monitoring shipping developments in the region. This comes at a time when it seeks to ensure the continued flow of energy supplies and maintain the stability of international markets.

The continued shipment of millions of barrels daily through the Strait of Hormuz underscores the strategic importance of this waterway. This is not only for the countries of the region, but also for the global economy and energy supply chains in general.
