Berlin, Germany – German Foreign Minister Johannes Wadephul stressed the need to improve the pace of humanitarian aid delivery to the Gaza Strip.
He emphasized that the humanitarian situation has not improved sufficiently despite ongoing international efforts,
given the worsening repercussions of the conflict in the region.
Urgent call to expedite aid
The German minister, speaking at a joint press conference in Berlin with his Israeli counterpart Gideon Sa’ar,
said that the suffering of more than two million people in the Gaza Strip cannot be ignored.
He also called for the urgent acceleration of humanitarian aid deliveries
and an improved response to meet the growing needs of the population.
Fadehful reiterated his country’s opposition to any attempts to annex parts of the occupied West Bank de facto.
He emphasized that Berlin is following developments in the Palestinian territories
with concern and remains committed to upholding international law and relevant UN resolutions.
The humanitarian crisis continues
The German Foreign Minister noted that the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza requires more effective international action.
He explained that continued restrictions on aid access exacerbate
the suffering of civilians and complicate the prospects for de-escalation in the region.
He also stressed the importance of joint efforts to ensure unimpeded access for aid.
Fadeh emphasized that political and diplomatic solutions remain the only way
to address the root causes of the crisis and achieve lasting stability in the region.
