Tehran, Iran – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the United States continues to issue threats and build up its military presence in the region, despite ongoing dialogue between the two sides.
He indicated that this approach is escalating tensions and is inconsistent with current diplomatic efforts.
Criticism of US policy
Pezeshkian explained that the increased US military activity contradicts calls for de-escalation.
He noted that the continuation of these policies sends negative messages
and undermines the chances of building trust between the parties involved in the crisis.
The Iranian president affirmed that his country remains open to dialogue and negotiation.
He also stressed that Tehran supports any diplomatic efforts that would reduce tensions and achieve stability in the region,
provided they are based on mutual respect and not imposed dictates.
Call for de-escalation
Pezeshkian warned that continued military and political pressure could further complicate the regional landscape.
He called for a halt to escalatory measures and a return to political dialogue as the primary means of avoiding further tension in the region.
