  • Complexities of the regional landscape

Beijing, China – China has joined the diplomatic efforts aimed at restarting dialogue between the United States and Iran,

amid continued regional tensions and stalled negotiations over the past months,

affirming its support for any political path that contributes to de-escalation and the restoration of stability.

Calls to resume negotiations

During his meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi,

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for the resumption of negotiations as soon as possible,

stressing that dialogue remains the only way to settle differences,

and that the progress achieved through previous understandings should be preserved and built upon.

Meanwhile, reports indicated a Chinese-led diplomatic move in coordination

with Pakistan to explore the possibility of resuming the stalled talks between Washington and Tehran.

Complexities of the regional landscape

This comes as an attempt to contain the escalating crisis and end the political stalemate,

despite the ongoing challenges stemming from the complexities of the regional landscape.

Beijing emphasized that maintaining the momentum of negotiations is a priority at this stage,

calling on all parties to commit to political solutions and refrain

from any actions that could undermine the prospects for dialogue.

It also expressed its readiness to continue playing a constructive role

in supporting mediation efforts and reducing tensions between the two sides.
