Rome, Italy – Italian-Brazilian Thiago Motta, former coach of Juventus and Bologna, has entered the list of strong candidates to take over the task of coaching the Italian national football team,
as the Italian Federation continues to search for a new coach to lead the “Azzurri” project in the next stage.

Motta’s nomination came after the Italian Football Federation’s efforts to secure Andrea Pirlo,
who was among the candidates considered for the national team’s coaching position, faltered.
This prompted officials to explore other options with the necessary experience and tactical vision.
Thiago Motta boasts impressive coaching experience, having achieved remarkable results with Bologna,
leading the team to strong performances and a style of play based on organization and attacking pressure,
before taking the helm at Juventus, a stint that was short-lived.
Building a new generation for the Italian national team
Italian football officials believe that Motta, who previously represented Italy as a player,
could be capable of building a new generation for the national team and restoring balance
after recent years of inconsistent results, particularly following Italy’s failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
The Italian Football Federation continues its consultations and discussions to select the coach who will lead the team in the next phase,
with the aim of developing a long-term plan to return the national team to competing for major titles.
