Madrid, Spain – Real Madrid has begun taking steps to keep its Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, after the club received indications of interest from English club Arsenal in signing the player during the current summer transfer window.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg reported that Real Madrid’s management has submitted a new offer to Vinicius and his representatives to extend his contract, as the club seeks to finalize the renewal in the coming period.
He added that Real Madrid officials are aware of Arsenal’s interest in signing the player. Therefore, they are working to expedite negotiations to ensure he remains with the team, following months of talks between the two parties.
He indicated that Arsenal is preparing to submit its first official offer to sign the Brazilian international, after informing the player’s representatives of its desire to sign him, in preparation for entering into direct negotiations in the coming days.
Vinicius is under contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2027, and the two sides have yet to reach a final agreement on extending the contract.
Vinicius is one of Real Madrid’s mainstays in recent years, making his continued presence a priority for the club’s management, who are seeking to finalize the renewal before European clubs become increasingly interested in his services.
