Istanbul, Turkey – Turkish press reports have revealed new developments in Besiktas’ negotiations with Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the former Liverpool player, as part of the club’s efforts to sign him during the current summer transfer window.
The Turkish newspaper Sabah reported that Besiktas management has submitted a new offer with a total value of 20 million euros, including salary, bonuses and incentives, in an attempt to convince the player to join the team in a free transfer deal.
The newspaper added that the Turkish club’s management is waiting for Mohamed Salah’s response to the new offer, whether it be acceptance or rejection, during Monday evening, in preparation for deciding the future of the deal.
She noted that negotiations had seen a breakthrough recently, after Ramy Abbas, the player’s agent, reduced the commission demanded from 7.5 million euros to 5 million euros, in a move aimed at bringing all parties closer together.
Mohamed Salah has attracted the interest of several clubs since the end of his contract with Liverpool, as his name has been linked with the possibility of a new experience in the Saudi and American leagues, in addition to Besiktas’ interest in acquiring his services.
Salah ended his career with Liverpool at the end of last season, after nine seasons with the “Reds”, during which he achieved many local and continental titles, in addition to a series of outstanding individual achievements.
