Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a number of drones after they entered the Kingdom’s airspace coming from the direction of Iraq, confirming the readiness of the armed forces to deal with any threat targeting the country’s security and sovereignty.
The official spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense said that the air defense systems detected the drones and dealt with them as soon as they entered Saudi airspace, where they were successfully intercepted and destroyed without any damage being recorded inside the Kingdom’s territory.
The ministry affirmed that the Saudi armed forces are taking all necessary measures and precautions to protect the airspace and vital installations, stressing that the Kingdom retains its right to take whatever measures it deems appropriate to defend its national security in accordance with international laws and norms.
