Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of the Dubai Chambers, has strengthened its efforts aimed at expanding partnership paths between the public and private sectors during the first half of this year, in cooperation with business groups and councils operating under the umbrella of the Chamber.

As part of its commitment to strengthening legal and legislative frameworks that stimulate private sector growth, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with business groups, reviewed 42 laws and draft laws during the first half of this year, with an annual growth of approximately 56%, while the adoption rate of private sector recommendations during this period reached 73% compared to 60% during the first half of last year.

During the first half of this year, the Chamber also held 94 meetings with business groups and business councils. The priorities of the various sectors were discussed, and the most important requirements for companies to keep pace with developments and benefit from emerging opportunities were identified. Which contributed to formulating practical recommendations that support the growth of the private sector.

These results reflect the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors. Consolidating the business community’s contribution to developing a more flexible and competitive investment environment in Dubai.

Improving the partnership approach

Maha Al Gergawi, Vice President of the Business Community Interests Support Sector at Dubai Chambers, said: “Enhancing the participation of the business community in developing economic legislation and policies represents an essential pillar to ensure that regulatory frameworks are aligned with private sector priorities and market requirements”. The high rate of adoption of private sector recommendations, and the intensification of constructive meetings with business groups and councils, contribute to advancing the approach of partnership and constructive dialogue. We are committed to developing communication channels with the business community in a way that contributes to developing a flexible regulatory environment that stimulates sustainable growth and consolidates Dubai’s global competitiveness.

During the first half of this year, the Chamber also launched three business groups: the Dubai Contracting Business Group, the Holiday Home Business Group, and the Building and Construction Technology Companies Business Group. With the aim of supporting companies operating in these sectors. Enhancing its contribution to economic development, in addition to providing a unified representative umbrella concerned with following up on its interests and issues.

Business groups are working to expand channels of communication and coordination with government agencies and the private sector. He put forward proposals and recommendations aimed at developing the regulatory environment and supporting the sustainability of the sector’s growth in the long term.

Taking care of the interests of the business community is at the top of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s strategic priorities, in light of its pivotal role in enhancing private sector participation and supporting economic competitiveness. This is achieved by enhancing the role of business groups in developing regulatory frameworks and work mechanisms in various economic sectors.

Business groups and councils play an active role in the growth of commercial and economic activities in Dubai. By ensuring representation of various economic sectors, and facilitating constructive dialogue between the business community and relevant government agencies.In addition to supporting efforts to improve the business environment and promote sustainable economic growth for the emirate.
