Abu Dhabi, UAE – Etihad Airways signed three African partnership agreements in July. It included Interline’s agreement with FastJet in Zimbabwe earlier this month. It was followed by agreements with Air Peace in Nigeria and Africa Global Airlines in Ghana.
In addition to the six African destinations announced by Etihad Airways in April, these agreements allow passengers to reach destinations across the continent from the first day the new services are launched.
It provides an interline agreement with Air Piece. It is Nigeria’s largest airline, and is located in Lagos on July 22, reaching 20 destinations in Nigeria, West and Central Africa. For guests traveling on Etihad flights.
As for the memorandum of understanding with Africa Global Airlines, signed in Accra on July 24. It identifies collaborations in the areas of token sharing, interline, shipping, and loyalty programs.
The partnership with FastJet Zimbabwe expands Etihad Airways’ access to South Africa ahead of its flights to Harare.
According to Etihad Airways, these African partnerships come within the framework of a well-thought-out sequence. Last April, Etihad Airways announced six new destinations across the continent. This makes Abu Dhabi a strategic corridor between Africa, India and Asia, both for travelers and shipping. Demand exceeds supply in trade-related sectors.
These new partnerships mean that when these lines are launched. Travelers will be able to continue their journeys across West and South Africa from day one.
This timing coincides with the UAE strengthening its relations with the African continent. Especially with the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed with Nigeria in January 2026.
