Cairo, Egypt – Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit congratulated the Egyptian and Moroccan national teams on their achievements in the 2026 World Cup. He affirmed that the success of the Arab teams reflects the significant progress of Arab football and demonstrates its ability to compete on the highest international stages.
Aboul Gheit stated that the outstanding performance of both teams during the tournament is a source of pride for all Arab nations. He noted that these results are the fruit of years of work, planning, and investment in developing football, as well as preparing players according to professional standards.
He added that the achievement of Egypt and Morocco is not limited to the sporting aspect alone, but also reflects a bright image of Arab capabilities. It also confirms that Arab teams have become capable of competing strongly against the world’s top teams.
The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States affirmed that this success serves as an incentive for the new generations of Arab athletes to continue their efforts and achieve further accomplishments in various international championships.
