Abu Dhabi, UAE – 50 Emirati runners are participating in the second edition of the Zayed Charity Race in Brazil. It is scheduled to be held on August 23 at Flamingo Beach in Rio de Janeiro.
The delegation left the Zayed Charity Race on Friday for Rio de Janeiro. Headed by Lieutenant General (M) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee.
The event is organized by the Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Race and Abu Dhabi Legacy. With support from the UAE Embassy in Brazil. It also enjoys the support of a number of Emirati companies, including Imad, Emirates Airlines, and Mubadala.
The organizing committee announced that the event will witness wide participation by professional athletes, amateur runners, and families. Along with participants of various nationalities in a community sports event that combines sports with a purposeful humanitarian message.
Registration proceeds will be allocated to support the “Crianza Esperanza” program of the “Afro Rigi” cultural group. Which contributes to supporting initiatives concerned with education, culture and social integration. It opens new horizons for children and youth in participating communities.
The program begins with a series of entertaining segments, followed by the official ceremony, which includes the playing of the national anthem and welcoming speeches. In addition to providing safety guidelines to participants.
After the official ceremony ends, the 5 and 10 km races will begin, and the program will continue with an awards ceremony for the first-place men and women. In addition to winners in special categories, raffles were held for cash prizes and travel tickets provided by Emirates Airlines, and sponsors and partners were honored. It also includes a special presentation reviewing the charitable impact of the race, highlighting the beneficiaries and the societal results it achieved, followed by the closing ceremony.
The total prize money for the 2026 edition exceeds R$500,000 for the 5 km and 10 km categories. In addition to raffles and community activities designed to encourage broader participation and enhance participants’ interaction with the humanitarian message of the initiative.
