Beirut, Lebanon – Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes early Wednesday morning targeting the Ali al-Taher hill on the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Doha Kfar Remman, and the outskirts of Deir Siryan in southern Lebanon, as part of the ongoing escalation in the region. Israeli forces also carried out bombings at dawn targeting the towns of Jdatha and Mansouri in southern Lebanon. Additionally, they fired several shells at the town of Majdal Zoun and the surrounding valleys. The forces also dropped flares overnight over the areas of Tyre and Bint Jbeil, according to Lebanon’s official National News Agency.
It is worth noting that Israel launched a war on Lebanon on March 2nd, after Hezbollah fired rockets into northern Israel, leading to the Israeli occupation of several towns in southern Lebanon. Despite repeated ceasefire announcements, particularly the June 20th agreement which led to a decrease in the intensity of attacks, violations and exchanges of fire have targeted wide areas in southern Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley.
