Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Army Commander discussed with the Commander of U.S. Central Command the plan the Lebanese Army intends to implement

within the framework of the so-called “Framework Agreement,” according to sources speaking to Sky News Arabia.

Military coordination regarding the framework agreement

The sources explained that the meetings addressed the details of the security plan that the Lebanese army is working to implement

within the framework of the “framework agreement,” as part of the existing military coordination between the two sides.

The meetings also covered implementation mechanisms and related field steps, without revealing a specific timeline for its implementation.

Ongoing cooperation between Beirut and Washington

According to sources, the talks come within the framework of ongoing cooperation between the Lebanese military and the United States,

which is one of the Lebanese army’s main supporters through aid, training, and equipment programs.

This contributes to strengthening its capabilities to carry out security missions and maintain stability.

The sources added that the meetings also focused on ways to support the Lebanese army in the coming period,

given the security challenges facing the country. Furthermore, the meetings addressed

regional developments that necessitate enhanced coordination between the two sides.

Security developments at a sensitive stage

These talks come at a time of rapidly evolving security developments in the region,

amid efforts to bolster stability and prevent the spread of tensions.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese army continues to carry out its security duties across Lebanon.

No further official details have yet been released regarding the nature of the “framework agreement”

or the implementation clauses discussed during the meetings.

Sources indicate that the consultations are part of broader efforts to strengthen military cooperation

and security coordination between Lebanon and the United States in the coming period.
