Abu Dhabi, UAE – Statistics from the Emirates Central Bank revealed that Dubai banks attracted new deposits amounting to 65 billion dirhams during 6 months of 2026. It grew by 4.2% to reach 1.613 trillion dirhams at the end of last June, compared to 1.548 trillion dirhams at the end of December 2025.

During June, it decreased by 0.3%, equivalent to 6 billion dirhams, compared to 1.619 trillion dirhams at the end of last May.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi banks recorded an increase in their deposits over 6 months by about 86 billion dirhams, an increase of 5.8%, reaching 1.561 trillion dirhams at the end of last June. Compared to 1.475 trillion dirhams at the end of December 2025.

During June, it grew by 1.1%, equivalent to 18 billion dirhams, compared to 1.543 trillion dirhams at the end of last May.

While in other UAE banks it increased within 6 months by 5.6%, or about 15.7 billion dirhams, to reach 297.5 billion dirhams at the end of last June. Compared to 281.8 billion dirhams at the end of December 2025, and during June, it decreased by 1%, or the equivalent of 3 billion dirhams, compared to 300.5 billion dirhams at the end of last May.

High credit

Credit granted by Dubai banks increased during the first half by 8.3%, or about 96 billion dirhams, to reach 1.244 trillion dirhams at the end of last June. Compared to 1.148 trillion dirhams at the end of December 2025, and during June, it increased by 1%, equivalent to 13 billion dirhams, compared to 1.231 trillion dirhams at the end of last May.

Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi banks, it rose by 6.2%, or the equivalent of 75 billion dirhams, to reach 1.273 trillion dirhams at the end of last June. Compared to 1.198 trillion dirhams at the end of December 2025, during June it increased by 0.7%, equivalent to 9 billion dirhams. Compared to 1.264 trillion dirhams last May.

In other UAE banks, it increased by 7.8%, or about 17.5 billion dirhams, to reach 240.1 billion dirhams at the end of last June. Compared to 222.6 billion dirhams at the end of December 2025, during June, it increased by 1.5%, or the equivalent of 3.6 billion dirhams. Compared to 236.5 billion dirhams at the end of last May.
