  • Resuming collaboration with Mona Zaki after years.
  • Fair competition and cinematic momentum
  • Cinema is my priority at the moment.

Actor Mohamed Henedy expressed his great delight at the reactions to his new film, *Al-Jawahirji* (The Jeweler), emphasizing that the audience’s engagement since its release reflects their enthusiasm for the movie—particularly given his return to the big screen in a distinctive role rich in detail and comedic situations.

The character of “The Jeweler” captivated me from the very beginning.

Mohamed Henedy stated that the character he portrays in *Al-Jawahirji* (The Jeweler) captured his interest from the very moment he read the project’s details; he explained that he saw great potential to present a unique character that would resonate with the audience—a prospect that motivated him to embark on the experience with great enthusiasm.

He added that what pleased him most was the audience’s reception of the character and their engagement with the events, noting that the positive reactions give the production team a strong boost to continue delivering cinematic works that explore diverse ideas.

Resuming collaboration with Mona Zaki after years.

Henedy noted that resuming his collaboration with actress Mona Zaki after a long hiatus had a significant positive impact on the film—particularly given the success they previously shared in *Sa’idi in the American University*—emphasizing that the artistic chemistry between them helped create scenes with a unique spirit, alongside the palpable harmony evident during filming.

He explained that the long interval since their last collaboration imbued the experience with a great sense of uniqueness, particularly given the differences in their personalities and the evolution of their artistic tools over that period.

Fair competition and cinematic momentum

Henedy emphasized that Egyptian cinema is currently experiencing a period of dynamic activity, driven by a wide variety of films and the filmmakers’ commitment to presenting diverse cinematic experiences. He stressed that the current competition among artists and filmmakers is a healthy one that ultimately benefits both the audience and the film industry.

Cinema is my priority at the moment.

Mohamed Henedy concluded his remarks by emphasizing that he has no plans to undertake a television drama project at present, explaining that his focus in the coming period is primarily on cinema and on selecting projects that he believes will add to his artistic career and offer him the opportunity to present new characters and experiences to the audience.
