The game’s only goal came in the 26th minute when Haaland capitalized on a cross into the penalty area, heading it powerfully into the Coventry net and giving his team the lead.
Coventry City tried to get back into the game in the remaining minutes. They intensified their efforts in search of an equalizer, but Manchester City’s defense and goalkeeper managed to keep a clean sheet until the final whistle.
With this victory, Manchester City continued their strong start to the season, raising their points tally to 9. They thus topped the English Premier League table, while Coventry City remained in 19th place with no points.
