Manchester, England – Manchester City striker Erling Haaland made sure to send a lighthearted farewell message to his former teammate Omar Marmoush. This came after the Egyptian player’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.
Marmoush joined Tottenham on a one-year loan. The loan agreement includes an option for the English club to make the move permanent at the end of the loan period.
Marmoush had spent about a year and a half with Manchester City. However, competition for the striker position with Haaland limited his chances of playing regularly for the team.
Marmoush has a strong friendship with Haaland. This was evident in the farewell message the Norwegian striker addressed to his former Egyptian teammate.
Haaland, in a statement reported by CityXtra, addressed Marmoush, saying: “It’s better if you don’t ignore me on Snapchat”.
Marmoush had spoken with Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca about his desire for more playing time, following a decrease in his minutes played last season.
Marmoush made his Tottenham debut against Newcastle United in the Premier League, a match his team lost 2-0.
