- A firm Egyptian stance and full solidarity
- Context of accelerated military escalation
- This condemnation comes in the wake of a day of unprecedented military tension in the Gulf region, as air defense systems in Kuwait and Bahrain intercepted missile and drone attacks. Cairo, Egypt – The Arab Republic of Egypt, in a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, strongly condemned Iran’s targeting of Kuwait and Bahrain, considering it a “flagrant violation of their sovereignty” and a “serious threat” to the security and stability of the region.
Cairo affirmed that these attacks represent an “unacceptable escalation” and contribute to increasing regional tensions.
A firm Egyptian stance and full solidarity
Egypt expressed its complete rejection of any actions that affect the sovereignty of sister countries, calling on all parties to “restraint and reduce escalation” to preserve regional peace. Cairo also stressed its full solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain. She confirmed that she stands by them in the face of any threats. In addition, she indicated that there is no justification for these attacks, which “cannot be tolerated.” The security of the Gulf states is considered an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

This confrontation erupted following extensive US airstrikes launched by Central Command against more than 80 Iranian targets. These targets included command centers, defense systems, and 60 fast attack craft. The strikes were in response to Tehran’s attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters condemned the US airstrikes as “blatant aggression” and vowed a “crushing” response. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) then carried out its threat by targeting territory in Bahrain and Kuwait in retaliation for what it considered a violation of the ceasefire agreement.
