Abu Dhabi, UAE – On August 23, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will host the second edition of the Zayed Charity Race, “Najri Al Aoun”. On Flamingo Beach, thousands of professional athletes, amateur runners, and families of various nationalities participated. In addition to 50 male and female runners from the UAE.

The Zayed Charity Race was launched in 2001 at the initiative of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. In honor of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless his soul. The initiative became a symbol of the values of generosity, brotherhood among peoples, and humanitarian commitment embodied by the Sheikh Zayed March. Carrying these principles to various countries of the world through sports.

Abu Dhabi.. First start

From Abu Dhabi, Zayed’s charity race to the world began, achieving success in New York, Cairo, Miami, Beijing, Addis Ababa and Budapest, and returning to Brazil. Rio de Janeiro has established itself as one of the stops on his growing international agenda to support humanitarian causes.

The 2026 edition in Brazil includes prizes worth more than 500,000 Brazilian reals for winners in various categories. In addition to draws and other special events prepared for participants. The initiative is not limited to honoring sporting performance. Rather, it also seeks to encourage the community to participate in an issue that goes beyond the finish line.

Improving Opportunity

100% of the registration fees will be allocated to the Afro-Rigi Cultural Group. Through a partnership with the Criansa Esperanza programme, with the support of the UAE Embassy in Brazil. This enhances communication between the race organizer and one of the country’s most prominent social programs.

The proceeds allocated to the project will contribute to expanding the scope of programs related to education, culture, social integration and improving opportunities for children, adolescents and youth. It is co-sponsored by a group of prominent Emirati companies, including Abu Dhabi Legacy. For Imad, Emirates Airlines, and Mubadala.
