Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Al-Nassr FC will be without their Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo for the team’s first two matches of the new season. This comes after the player celebrated his marriage to model Georgina Rodriguez, according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadhiah.
Al-Nassr will begin their Saudi Pro League title defense against Al-Fateh next Saturday in the opening round of the competition. Three days later, they will face Al-Diriyah in the Round of 32 of the King’s Cup.
The two matches are scheduled to take place in Riyadh, and Ronaldo will miss them. However, he will return to play for Al-Nassr after his vacation.
Ronaldo had been absent from Al-Nassr’s pre-season training program after being granted extra leave. This came after his participation with the Portuguese national team in the 2016 World Cup.
The Al-Nassr captain used his time off to get married to Georgina Rodriguez. He then began preparing to return to team training in the coming days.
Al-Nassr eagerly awaits Ronaldo’s return to the squad, relying on the Portuguese striker to lead the team in the upcoming season. Furthermore, they are counting on him to help them defend their Saudi League title.
