Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Al-Riyadh Saudi Club is close to officially announcing its contract with Egyptian Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, after obtaining the financial efficiency certificate that allows it to register players in its list for the new football season.
The Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyadh” reported that the Professional League Association agreed to complete the procedures for registering Trezeguet with Al-Riyadh Club, after the club fulfilled the necessary financial requirements to complete the deal.
The newspaper explained that Trezeguet has already signed contracts to transfer to Al-Riyadh, and the club is expected to officially announce the deal in the coming period.
Trezeguet moves to the Saudi League
Trezeguet had ended his association with Al-Ahly club last month, in preparation for embarking on a new experience in the Saudi League, joining Al-Riyadh in a free transfer deal.
The player’s move to Riyadh comes after a long professional career outside of Egypt, during which he had experiences with a number of European and Arab clubs.
The Egyptian international has previously worn the shirts of Aston Villa in England, Trabzonspor, Kasimpasa and Istanbul Basaksehir in Türkiye, as well as Anderlecht and Mouscron in Belgium, and Al Rayyan in Qatar.
Trezeguet returns to professional football through Al-Riyadh
Trezeguet had returned to Al-Ahly after an absence of about 10 years spent in European stadiums, and participated with the team during the last season, before he terminated his contract and preferred to move to the Saudi Professional League.
With Al-Riyadh obtaining the financial efficiency certificate, the club is now eligible to complete the procedures for registering Trezeguet in its list, in preparation for his appearance in the team’s jersey during the new season.
