Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of strengthening economic cooperation with Turkey, calling for increased Turkish investment in Pakistan. He stated that this would contribute to economic growth and job creation. He also stressed the importance of leveraging the significant potential of both countries across various sectors.
During a meeting with a delegation of Turkish businesspeople and investors, Sharif explained that the Pakistani government is working to create an attractive investment environment through economic reforms and incentives for investors. He indicated that his country welcomes expanded Turkish investment in the industrial, energy, infrastructure, agricultural, and information technology sectors.
The Prime Minister noted that Pakistani-Turkish relations are based on close historical ties. He also emphasized that the next phase aims to elevate economic and trade cooperation to a level commensurate with the strength of the political relations between the two countries.
For their part, representatives of Turkish companies expressed their interest in exploring investment opportunities in the Pakistani market. They also affirmed their readiness to expand their operations and launch new projects in cooperation with relevant entities in Pakistan.
Islamabad and Ankara seek to increase the volume of trade and investment in the coming period through the implementation of joint projects. The private sector in both countries is also being encouraged to expand cooperation, which will support economic development and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations.
