Baku, Azerbaijan – The UAE stressed the need for a unified international position that revives the political path based on the two-state solution. Dr. Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi, a member of the Federal National Council group in the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, participated in the fourteenth meeting of the Palestine Committee. Which was held as part of the twentieth session of the Union Conference in the capital, Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Dr. Al Hammadi affirmed the UAE’s firm and supportive position for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people. Pointing out that the UAE continues its political, diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, in cooperation with regional and international partners. To support efforts to calm the situation and enhance stability in light of the continuing dangerous escalation witnessed in the occupied Palestinian territory. And the accompanying increase in violations and attacks targeting the Palestinian people, their sanctities and property.
He explained that the UAE continues to provide humanitarian and relief support to the Palestinian people through Operation “The Noble Knight 3”, which was launched in November 2023 and succeeded in delivering more than 130,000 tons of humanitarian, relief and medical aid to the Gaza Strip, worth more than 3.1 billion US dollars. In addition to contributing an additional $1.2 billion to support the sector.
