Manama, Bahrain – The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force issued an official statement confirming that Iran continues its hostile approach towards the Kingdom, through direct attacks using missiles and drones targeting civilians.

Successful interception and vigilant defense systems

In response to these threats, the General Command announced that the Bahrain Defense Force’s air defense systems successfully detected, intercepted, and destroyed three missiles, as well as several drones that attempted to penetrate Bahraini airspace.

The Command affirmed that all branches and units of the Defense Force are at the highest levels of readiness and full defensive preparedness to protect the Kingdom’s territory and ensure its security and stability against any external threats.

Security warnings for the safety of citizens

In a proactive step to ensure public safety, the General Command urged all citizens and residents to exercise extreme caution.

The Command warned against approaching or touching any strange or suspicious objects that may be found as a result of this attack. It stressed the importance of immediately reporting such objects to the relevant authorities.

The Command also confirmed that the personnel of the Royal Field Engineering Unit are on full alert and technically prepared to safely handle any such objects, thus ensuring everyone’s safety.

Official position and international law

On the political and diplomatic level, the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force stressed that targeting civilians and private property via missiles and drones does not only represent a security threat. Rather, it is a “flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.”
The leadership concluded its statement by emphasizing its pride in the advanced combat readiness displayed by the men of the Bahrain Defense Force in performing their sacred national duty. It renewed its determination to defend the homeland and protect its sovereignty under all circumstances.

This statement comes at a time when the Kingdom is strengthening its defense measures and reaffirming its steadfast position in the face of Iranian escalation, while remaining committed to keeping the local community informed of the security procedures required to address any emergency.
