Moscow, Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that his country maintains close ties with Iran, noting that Moscow is capable of contributing to efforts

aimed at resolving the current crisis through political and diplomatic channels.

Russia’s position on the Iranian crisis

Putin said that Russia is maintaining contact with various stakeholders,

emphasizing his country’s readiness to play a role in reducing tensions and supporting regional stability.

The Russian president explained that relations between Moscow and Tehran

give Russia the ability to contribute to resolving outstanding issues.

He also noted that political solutions and dialogue remain the best way to overcome international crises.

He added that his country is closely monitoring regional developments

and supports efforts to prevent the escalation of tensions in the region.

The peace agreement and the role of the European Union

Regarding the war in Ukraine, Putin affirmed that Russia will find a partner to sign a peace agreement when the time is right.

He also indicated that Moscow is prepared to sign any agreement with legitimate representatives of the Ukrainian side.

He added that the signing could even take place with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky,

should the necessary political and legal conditions for concluding an agreement to end the ongoing conflict be met.

Putin noted that the European Union cannot act as a mediator in the Ukrainian conflict,

but it can provide assistance and support for efforts aimed at reaching a political settlement.

He emphasized that any successful negotiation process requires parties capable of playing a balanced role.

He expressed hope that international efforts will contribute to creating

the necessary conditions for reaching a stabilizing agreement.

He also hoped that this would put an end to the war that has been raging for more than four years.
