Washington, DC – The White House asserted that any belief that Iran holds the upper hand in the regional landscape is incorrect.
It described those who hold this view as either “delusional” or “spokes for the Revolutionary Guard.”
A strongly worded message to Tehran
The White House stated that the US administration’s assessment of the balance of power in the region is based on field and political data.
It indicated that Iran’s capabilities do not reflect a strategic advantage, as some claim.
It explained that Washington believes its policies of deterrence, sanctions,
and coordination with allies have contributed to limiting Iran’s influence.
These policies have also limited Iran’s ability to impose new regional realities.
Emphasis on the policy of deterrence
The White House added that the United States continues to pursue a policy aimed at deterring
any behavior it deems a threat to regional stability or its interests and those of its allies.
It emphasized that this policy relies on a combination of economic, diplomatic, and military pressure.
The White House noted that the US administration is closely monitoring developments in the region and is
also working with its partners to ensure that threats do not escalate or the balance of power is not disrupted.
These statements come amid ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran over multiple issues,
including Iran’s nuclear program and regional influence. This is occurring against a backdrop
of intermittent diplomatic efforts to contain the disputes and prevent further escalation.
