Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, awarded Ambassador Edward Hobart the Order of Independence, First Class.
This was in recognition of his efforts during his tenure in the country,
which contributed to strengthening and developing the strategic relationship between the two nations across various fields.
Award ceremony in Abu Dhabi
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs,
presented the medal to the British Ambassador during a meeting in Abu Dhabi.
He commended the Ambassador’s role in strengthening cooperation and friendship
between the UAE and the UK at the political, economic, and diplomatic levels.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed affirmed the UAE
commitment to further developing its strategic partnership with Britain.
He wished the Ambassador success in his future endeavors and expressed his appreciation
for the Ambassador’s efforts in supporting bilateral relations throughout his diplomatic career.

For his part, Ambassador Edward Hobart expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for this honor.
