Cairo, Egypt – Al Ahly SC announced on Tuesday the termination of their contract with Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet by mutual consent, following an amicable agreement between the two parties. The player is now on the verge of joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Riyadh.
Al Ahly explained in an official statement that the termination of the contract came after amicable discussions and consultations, and a financial settlement. They also emphasized that the excellent relationship between the club and the player contributed to finalizing the procedures amicably.
The club thanked Trezeguet, praising his contributions during his time with the team. They also commended his efforts in helping his teammates achieve the best possible results across all competitions.
For his part, Trezeguet expressed his appreciation to Al Ahly’s management and board, praising the attention and respect he received throughout his time at the club. He also sent a message of thanks to Al Ahly’s fans, emphasizing his pride in the support and encouragement he received from them throughout his career.
Al Ahly’s announcement comes days after reports circulated that Trezeguet was close to joining Saudi club Al-Riyadh. The deal is expected to be officially announced soon.
