Cairo, Egypt – The Family Court at Qasr El Nil decided on Tuesday to adjourn the hearing of three lawsuits filed by the ex-wife of actor Bayoumi Fouad—concerning the waiting period maintenance (*iddah*), compensation for divorce (*mut’ah*), and the deferred dowry—to a session on July 21.
Hearing witnesses
The Family Prosecution had previously heard testimony from witnesses regarding four lawsuits filed by the artist’s ex-wife—docketed as Family Cases Nos. 179, 180, 181, and 182 of 2026—concerning the deferred dowry, compensation for divorce (*mut’ah*), and maintenance for the waiting period (*’iddah*).
Educational guardianship of the child
Bayoumi Fouad’s ex-wife confirmed that she recently obtained a court ruling granting her educational guardianship over their child, noting that she had covered all the child’s expenses during the recent period after failing to reach an amicable resolution with the actor.
Failure of settlement attempts
She added that attempts at an amicable settlement continued for some time; however, according to her statements, Bayoumi Fouad informed her that he was unable to meet the required obligations, prompting her to resort to legal action to claim the child’s legal rights. She also explained that her lawyer had made multiple attempts to reach an amicable solution and resolve the crisis out of court, but—according to her—none of these attempts resulted in an agreement.
Other cases before the Family Court
In the same context, there are other ongoing matters between the parties before the Family Court regarding child support and care, which are expected to be heard during upcoming sessions.
