New York, USA – US Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, asserted that the Houthi group has failed to comply with Security Council resolutions.
He accused Iran and the Houthis of continuing to target commercial vessels and threatening the security and stability of the region.
This came during a Security Council session dedicated to discussing developments in Yemen and maritime security.
Direct accusations against Iran and the Houthis
The US representative stated that the Houthi attacks against commercial vessels constitute a violation of Security Council resolutions.
He noted that Iran, along with the Houthis, continues to threaten
international maritime security and destabilize the region.
He added that the continuation of these attacks poses a danger to global trade and the safety of vital sea lanes.
He called for the full implementation of Security Council resolutions.
