Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, met today, Thursday, with his brother,

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar,

This was during a telephone call, discussing the brotherly relations

between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation

and joint work in order to achieve mutual interests and serve the aspirations of their two brotherly peoples.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional developments and issues of common interest.

They stressed the importance of coordination and consultation to support

the security and stability of the region, according to the Emirates News Agency.

This contact comes amid rapid developments in the region, particularly in Yemen.

Regional and international efforts continue to advance the peace process and end the humanitarian crisis.

This is in contrast to the continued threats posed by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia

to the security of Yemen and international navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

In this context, the UAE affirms its firm stance in support of a comprehensive political solution in Yemen,

and its solidarity with the Yemeni people.

And its support for international and regional efforts aimed

at establishing stability and protecting the security of international waterways,

And to prevent the region from sliding into further tensions that threaten international peace and security.
