Dubai, UAE – On Friday, the Dubai Financial Market closed trading in the last session of the week, up by 0.291%, or the equivalent of 17.02 points. To reach 5,856.55 points, supported by an increase in shares in six sectors, most notably banking, industry and basic materials.
Dubai Financial’s market capitalization rose to AED 975.46 billion at the end of the session. Compared to about 973.23 billion dirhams at the end of trading last Thursday, with gains amounting to about 2.23 billion dirhams.
The market performance supported the growth of shares in six sectors: banking by 0.32%, industry by 0.11%, communications by 3.05%, public utilities by 0.12%, luxury consumer goods by 0.36%, and basic materials by 4.35%.
The stocks listed on the market attracted liquidity exceeding 476.11 million dirhams, after trading about 180.04 million shares, through the implementation of 13,195 transactions.
Demand for purchase
During Friday’s trading, citizen investors turned to buying, with a net investment of about 22.08 million dirhams. After recording purchases worth more than AED 253.28 million, compared to sales worth AED 231.2 million.
It acquired shares of six companies listed on Dubai Financial. They are “Emaar Properties”, “Emaar Development”, “Emirates Integrated Telecommunications – Du”, “Dubai Islamic Bank”, “SALIC”, and “Islamic Arab Insurance – Salama”, with 64.45% of the market’s liquidity at the end of trading.
According to market data, the total trading value of the six shares amounted to approximately AED 306.88 million. The total trading value in the Dubai Financial Market amounted to approximately AED 476.11 million.
