The new consular pathways are distributed according to the nature and type of visa requested, as follows: South Sudanese citizens and residents seeking non-immigrant visas—such as tourist, study, and other related categories—must schedule their appointments and pay the required fees at the U.S. Embassy in Kampala, Uganda. This embassy has become the designated regional location for processing this category of applications. Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, will remain the sole diplomatic mission responsible for processing immigrant visa applications submitted by South Sudanese citizens.
