Cairo – Egypt strongly condemned the attack targeting two commercial tankers belonging to the UAE’s ADNOC while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Consequently, these developments underscore mounting concerns over maritime navigation security and supply chain stability in the region.

Furthermore, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that targeting commercial shipping and civilian vessels constitutes a direct threat to international maritime safety. As a result, Cairo reaffirmed its complete solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, supporting all necessary measures to protect its security and national interests.

Maritime Protection and Calls for Regional De-escalation

On the other hand, Cairo emphasized that maintaining freedom of navigation across vital maritime chokepoints serves as an indispensable pillar for regional stability and global trade. Additionally, official statements reiterated the urgency of strict compliance with international law to ensure commercial vessels remain insulated from conflict.

Consequently, Egypt called for an immediate cessation of escalatory actions to prevent further destabilization of maritime corridors and energy markets. Ultimately, these diplomatic efforts aim to preserve commercial shipping flows through one of the world’s most critical maritime transit routes.

Finally, attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz place regional stability at a critical juncture. Ultimately, adherence to international legal standards and sustained de-escalation remain vital to guaranteeing maritime security.
