Cairo, Egypt – The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is still underway to uncover all the circumstances surrounding the attack on the two ships in Damietta port and to accurately identify the party responsible. In an official post on its Facebook page, the Ministry stated that some foreign media outlets are “publishing inaccurate and misleading information about the incident,” which necessitates caution and professional responsibility.

The Ministry called on all foreign media outlets to be accurate and objective in reporting on this incident, and stressed the great importance of conveying any information related to Egyptian affairs in general and the details of the bloody incident in particular only from official and responsible sources, in order to avoid misleading public opinion and spreading false information.

On the governmental level, Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly announced that the state dealt with the Damietta port incident by activating a comprehensive crisis management model, in which all relevant state agencies participated through joint coordination, according to a statement published by the Prime Minister’s office on its official Facebook page. Regarding the course of the technical investigations, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, and all security and sovereign agencies commenced their duties from the very first moment of the incident, conducting thorough technical examinations and analyses.

He explained that the details of the incident were uncovered after specialized technical teams boarded the ship and examined the drone’s wreckage and debris on-site. Meanwhile, the relevant security agencies are continuing to analyze all evidence and clues to determine the drone’s launch site and the party responsible for the attack. These developments come as the government has dealt with the incident transparently, emphasizing the readiness of state institutions to respond firmly to any threats to national security and the safety of the country’s vital and strategic facilities. Official efforts are ongoing to announce the final results of the investigations to the local and international public as soon as they are fully completed.
