  • Direct Accusation Against Washington
  • Unprecedented Escalation Between the Two Sides

Tehran, Iran – The Iranian Supreme Leader stated in a written message that the United States has repeatedly violated its commitments stipulated in the “memorandum of understanding.” He asserted that this behavior has undermined the foundations of the agreement and rendered it practically useless. The official statement marks a significant development in the crisis, confirming that Tehran will continue to defend its interests and sovereignty amidst persistent military and political pressure from Washington.

Direct Accusation Against Washington

The Supreme Leader explained that the US failed to adhere to the provisions of the memorandum, noting that Washington’s repeated violations have stripped the agreement of its practical utility. He indicated that this conduct has forced Iran to reassess its commitments, especially given the ongoing military and political pressures the country is facing.

Unprecedented Escalation Between the Two Sides

These remarks come at a time when relations between Iran and the US are witnessing unprecedented escalation, characterized by ongoing mutual military operations and hawkish rhetoric from both sides. Recent days have seen US strikes targeting positions within Iran, countered by Iranian attacks on targets and interests linked to the United States in the region, fueling concerns about the widening scope of the confrontation.

Fears of Expanding Crisis: Observers believe that the exchange of accusations regarding adherence to the memorandum of understanding reflects a breakdown in the diplomatic track between the two countries. This increases the probability of continued escalation in the coming period, especially with each side remaining entrenched in its political and military stance. International calls are mounting to contain the crisis and prevent the region from sliding into a wider confrontation that could threaten the security and stability of the Middle East, particularly as field developments accelerate.

International calls for restraint continue, but the situation on the ground indicates that both sides are heading towards further escalation, which puts the region at a dangerous crossroads that could change the map of geopolitical balances in the coming period.
