New York, USA – The US ambassador to the United Nations affirmed that his country will not allow Iran to threaten international navigation or target US bases without a decisive response.

He also stressed that any such attack would be met with an appropriate response.

This comes amid ongoing regional tensions.

US warning to Iran

The US ambassador stated that Iran was attempting to “hold the world economy hostage”

by threatening international trade and shipping lanes.

He asserted that this policy had failed to achieve its objectives and had instead negatively

impacted the Iranian economy, which is facing increasing pressure.

He added that the United States is closely monitoring any actions that could

threaten the security of maritime routes or US forces deployed in the region.

He emphasized that protecting freedom of navigation is a priority for Washington.

Confirmation of the right of reply

The US ambassador stressed that Iran would be mistaken if it believed

it could attack international shipping or US bases without facing a response.

He affirmed that the United States possesses both the capability

and the will to defend its interests and those of its partners.

He clarified that any escalation targeting US forces or interests would be met

with appropriate measures in accordance with international law.

This, he emphasized, would ensure the preservation of security and stability.

Escalating regional tensions

The US ambassador’s remarks come at a time of heightened tensions in the region due to security and political developments.

This follows international warnings about the risks of targeting shipping lanes or escalating the military confrontation.

The United States continues to emphasize its commitment to protecting international maritime security

and deterring any threats that could affect regional stability or global trade.

It also calls for avoiding escalation and returning to diplomatic channels to resolve disputes.
