Brussels, Belgium – The European Union and Ukraine have announced the launch of new program packages and funding worth €343 million to support the defense industry and dual-use technologies.
This step reflects the ongoing strategic partnership between the two sides, aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s technological and military capabilities in light of the current security challenges facing the country.
Supporting Defense Industry and Advanced Technologies
The initiative, announced during the Ukraine Recovery Conference, includes funding for various joint projects focusing on vital sectors such as the production of drones and anti-drone systems.
The package also covers the development of unmanned vehicles, as well as advanced aviation, communication, and navigation technologies, contributing directly to increasing the efficiency of Ukraine’s defense industry.
These efforts aim to boost innovation in advanced technologies and provide modern technical solutions that help develop the Ukrainian industrial base, making it more flexible and sustainable.
Enhancing Industrial Integration and Investment
European officials confirmed that the new programs are intended to strengthen industrial cooperation between European and Ukrainian companies, while encouraging investment in the defense industry sector.
This funding provides direct support for projects serving both civilian and military purposes, enhancing Ukraine’s ability to develop an advanced industrial base that meets its security and development needs.
The package is expected to attract additional investments in the coming period, supporting efforts to rebuild Ukraine’s industrial sector and enhancing technological integration between Ukraine and the EU.
