Paris, France – France emphasized that the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel must constitute a fundamental step toward restoring the Lebanese state’s full sovereignty over all its territories.
Paris stressed the necessity for Israeli forces to withdraw from Lebanese territory, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and to enhance the chances of achieving lasting stability in the region.
International Support for Implementing Commitments and Consolidating Stability
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained in an official statement that Paris strongly supports international efforts aimed at implementing this agreement to ensure the restoration of national authority.
The Ministry considered that the success of the agreement requires full commitment from all parties to its terms, ensuring a cessation of escalation and consolidating security on both sides of the border.
The Ministry noted that the restoration of the Lebanese state’s full sovereignty and the extension of its authority over all its territories represent a fundamental pillar for achieving security and stability.
Paris Calls for Protecting Lebanese Territorial Integrity
France also affirmed its continued work closely with its regional and international partners to support Lebanon and assist its official institutions during this delicate phase.
Paris renewed its steadfast confirmation of supporting Lebanon’s independence and territorial integrity, calling for the necessity of implementing all commitments contained in the framework agreement.
It indicated that this path contributes to stabilizing the situation, creating appropriate conditions for reconstruction, and enhancing overall security in the region.
