  • Effective Coordination with Authorities and International Organizations
  • A Lasting Emirati Legacy in Global Humanitarian Work

The United Arab Emirates, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has announced an urgent humanitarian aid package of $10 million USD. This aid is intended to assist those affected by the two earthquakes that struck the northern coast of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, near the city of Moron. This step is part of the UAE’s pioneering role in mitigating the consequences of natural disasters. The aid, overseen by the UAE International Aid Agency, aims to accelerate early recovery efforts and provide all necessary supplies to the affected individuals, including essential food items, urgent medical supplies, and shelter equipment for families whose homes were damaged by the tremors.

Effective Coordination with Authorities and International Organizations

In this regard, Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Ameri, head of the UAE International Aid Agency, stated that the agency has already begun direct and intensive coordination with Venezuelan authorities and relevant international organizations on the ground. This mechanism aims to ensure the urgent delivery of aid to the most affected areas and to meet the most pressing humanitarian needs of the victims. This will contribute to limiting the catastrophic effects of the earthquakes and overcoming the logistical and field challenges resulting from these exceptional circumstances.

A Lasting Emirati Legacy in Global Humanitarian Work

Al Ameri emphasized that this unique humanitarian initiative embodies the steadfast approach established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which made extending a helping hand to disaster-stricken communities a fundamental pillar of the UAE’s foreign policy. Through these efforts, the country continues to enhance its global relief role, driven by its moral and humanitarian commitment to provide support to all peoples affected by crises, alleviate their suffering, and work closely with the international community to promote stability in affected regions and provide them with the necessities for a dignified life during times of adversity.
