Beijing, China – In a new diplomatic move regarding developments in the Sudanese crisis, China has called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in the city of Al-Obeid, North Kordofan State. Beijing expressed deep concern over the escalating military confrontations in the region. The Chinese authorities emphasized that continuing hostilities not only worsens the humanitarian crisis but puts civilian lives in imminent danger, requiring urgent action to contain the situation before its repercussions become more complex on both the field and humanitarian levels.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in an official statement that Beijing is closely monitoring field developments in Al-Obeid. It stressed the necessity for all parties to the conflict to exercise maximum restraint. This Chinese call comes in the context of ensuring the preservation of infrastructure and essential services upon which the population depends. Beijing considers that the protection of civilians must be the top priority in any field arrangements and that the cessation of hostilities is the first and most important step to ensure the stability of the situation in the Sudanese state.

Call for Political Solutions and Preserving Sudanese Territorial Integrity

Regarding its vision for ending the conflict, China renewed its firm call to prioritize dialogue and pursue peaceful political solutions as the only way to end the ongoing Sudanese crisis. Beijing confirmed its full support for all regional and international efforts aimed at reaching a permanent ceasefire. It emphasized the importance of removing all obstacles hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict, ensuring the alleviation of the suffering of the Sudanese people who are facing extremely difficult conditions.

Beijing emphasized the principle of Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, viewing the stability of the Sudanese state as a fundamental pillar for regional security. China expressed its full readiness to continue coordination and cooperation with the international community to support efforts to establish peace and stability. It affirmed that the international community shares a responsibility to work toward ending the suffering of the Sudanese people and ending the conflict as soon as possible, in a manner that preserves the country’s unity and national cohesion.
