Washington, DC – Is the confrontation with Iran nearing military escalation despite ongoing talks about a nuclear agreement? This is what US President Donald Trump’s statements suggest.

He hinted at the possibility of new strikes against Iran, even as he spoke of a negotiating track concerning the Iranian nuclear program.

Direct threats and a potential agreement

Trump said the United States would “hit Iran again very hard today,” hinting at the possibility of further military action if tensions continued.

He added that he could not say whether potential strikes would target bridges or power plants, simply stating that all options remained on the table.

Conversely, Trump asserted that Iran had agreed not to acquire nuclear weapons, and that only the signing of the agreement remained.

He emphasized that his country sought a “meaningful and enforceable”

agreement that would definitively prevent the development of nuclear weapons.

He explained that Washington wanted to reach a clear and lasting understanding

that would bring stability and put an end to the ongoing escalation in the nuclear issue.

Conflicting indicators and messages

The US president said that Iran is “playing us for fools,” referring to what he considers its lack of seriousness in the ongoing and past negotiations.

At the same time, he affirmed that the United States desires peace for the Middle East and the entire world,

attempting to reconcile the potential for military escalation with the rhetoric of diplomatic solutions.

Trump statements reflect a mix of military threats and negotiating signals.

This comes at a time of escalating tensions surrounding the Iranian issue on both the political and security levels.

Observers believe that this rhetoric reflects a highly sensitive phase in dealing with Tehran.

It demonstrates a balancing act between attempting to impose stringent

conditions through military pressure and maintaining an open negotiating track.
