Tehran, Iran – The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced a strong military and security strike against “counter-revolutionary terrorist groups” that were based in northern Iraq and operating on behalf of the United States and Israel.
Smuggling American weapons
The statement explained that Iranian forces bombed the center of Baneh, a city in Iran’s Kurdistan province on the shared border, completely eliminating the cells and seizing large quantities of advanced weapons and ammunition. The Revolutionary Guard indicated that the foiled plot aimed to smuggle a large shipment of new American weapons across the border, noting that the operation was based on extensive intelligence gathering to uncover, identify, and arrest the collaborating elements within the country.
Simultaneous security operations target espionage and sabotage networks
In a related context, the intelligence apparatus of the Revolutionary Guard in the provinces of Qazvin, Kerman, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari announced the implementation of a series of successful security operations that resulted in the arrest of “agents of the American-Zionist axis” who were planning to incite chaos and disrupt the country’s economic market and infrastructure.
In Qazvin province, an arms distribution network was dismantled and two spies working for the Zionist entity were arrested, in addition to a raid on an industrial unit and the discovery of 1,400 tons of petrochemical raw materials stored with the aim of concealing them and harming the domestic market by creating crises in the regionally volatile energy sector.
In Kerman province, intelligence services successfully arrested eight key individuals involved in the shooting at security forces, the burning of the Sirjan governorate building, and communication with foreign entities.
In Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, the Revolutionary Guard announced the elimination of 22 members of various sabotage networks who were preparing to carry out coordinated bombings against vital installations before their movements were neutralized.
